Ethically produced food & fibre

Where we love the land that feeds us…

A muddy dirt road with tire tracks runs through a grassy field under a foggy sky, with trees on the right side.

Follow our journey and support a movement towards more conscious, sustainable consumption and greater transparency.

Where is Addington?

Settled on the edge of the Dja Dja Wurrung and the Wadawurrung clan boundaries with the spectacular Mount Bolton to the northeast. In any given season our outlook is stunning and we are lucky to live here. We reside 30 minutes northwest of Ballarat, Central West Victoria.

We are proud to cultivate a way of life here, where the animals are happy, the food is nutrient dense and our focus on health informs every decision. We run a multispecies “flerd” of small ruminants for their meat, milk and of course, fibre.

With animal welfare at the heart of everything we do, our philosophy extends beyond sustainability to regeneration. As we benefit from the beautiful land we’re on, we do everything we can to improve it. We’re focused on biodiversity and building soil health and many other practises flow on from there. We want to make sure we’re not only sustaining what we found, but are consciously doing things to encourage improvement.

Acknowledgement of Country

We are committed to nurturing the land with the same respect and care that has been passed down through generations of Traditional Owners. We recognise the deep spiritual and cultural significance this land holds and are grateful to be here.

We acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Addington Downs is located. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present – and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We honor their ongoing connection to land, culture and community.
