To think that we started this process with the wool in 2023 taking that year’s clip from my workplace at Brooklands farm & sending it away for processing to the the micro mill in NSW. My bosses have been extremely generous and we graciously accepted the offer of that year’s fleeces & prepared some of them for milling. We now have some of the Brooklands sheep as part of our “flerd”, things have come full circle.

While we’re still learning, we are proud of the first yarns to come back from the mill. We are committed to improving our flock’s fleeces to refine our yarn & work towards as little waste as possible.

Our philosophy, & our commitment to no waste will mean we will never win awards for our sheep’s yarn. It won’t be the softest, it won’t be the most consistent or the most even. It will be an expression of our farm, of the breeds we run & all they give us throughout the year.

It’s a product made by humans in a cottage industry, not by companies with industrial machines. We are not sending our wool to Milan for it to be made into fine suits. We are wanting you to knit jumpers & scarves to be worn outside when you’re in the garden or walking the dog. Even better, when you’re out on a farm! This is truly ethical, honestly sustainable fibre.
